Left Behind Truth

Why Knowing the Truth Matters to Your Faith

Left Behind Truth Biblical Truth, End Times, Spiritual Discernment June 1, 2025

In a world filled with noise, opinions, and watered-down theology, one thing remains essential for every believer: the truth. Not just any truth—but biblical truth. The kind of truth that doesn’t come from tradition, pop culture, or man’s interpretation, but from God’s own Word. If your faith is built on anything less, it’s time to pause, pray, and realign.

Far too many Christians today are walking in confusion, and it’s not because God is unclear. It’s because we’ve accepted teachings without verifying them in Scripture. We’ve taken pastors at their word, authors at their influence, and sensational doctrines at face value—without ever checking what the Bible actually says.

“Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.” — John 17:17

This verse reminds us that truth isn’t a concept—it’s a person. Jesus Christ is the embodiment of truth. His Word is what sets us apart. If we’re not reading it, studying it, or testing what we’ve been taught by it, we’re building our faith on shifting sand.

The Rapture: A Test Case of Misguided Faith

The rapture doctrine is a perfect example of why truth matters. Many of us were raised with the belief that Jesus will secretly snatch believers from the earth, leaving chaos behind. We were shown terrifying plays, handed bestselling books, and warned to be “rapture ready.” But when we opened the Bible for ourselves, something was missing.

There was no rapture.

Not the way it was taught. Not in context. Not in the pattern of Scripture.

“Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.” — Proverbs 30:5

When I finally asked God to remove every preconceived idea and help me read His Word clearly, I was shocked. I couldn’t find the rapture anywhere. All the verses used to support it—when read in context—actually disproved it.

I had to ask: If I believed this my whole life and it’s not in the Bible, what else have I believed that wasn’t true?

Truth Is Not Optional — It’s Foundational

We serve a God of order, not confusion. His Word doesn’t need help to be relevant. It is already living and powerful.

“And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” — John 8:32

Knowing the truth will free you from fear. It will release you from man-made traditions and empty rituals. It will strip away confusion and empower you to walk boldly in the authority Christ has given you.

When believers misunderstand prophecy, they misunderstand purpose. When we think our escape is the goal, we stop preparing for endurance. When we expect to be taken away, we neglect the commission we were given: to stand firm, to occupy, and to be light in dark places.

“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” — 2 Timothy 2:15

God holds us accountable not just for hearing truth—but for pursuing it. Lazy faith is dangerous faith. If you wouldn’t sign a contract without reading it, why live your life by teachings you haven’t verified?

Faith That Lasts Is Built on Truth

Faith is not wishful thinking. Faith is confidence based on what God said. And if we don’t know what He said, how can we have real faith?

“So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” — Romans 10:17

The enemy doesn’t mind if you go to church. He doesn’t mind if you say you’re a Christian. What he minds is when you know the truth. Because truth sets people free—and free people can’t be manipulated by fear.

The goal of this book isn’t to stir controversy. It’s to stir you back to the Word. To challenge you, like I was challenged, to read it for yourself and ask the hard questions.

Let Go of the Lie. Embrace the Truth.

You may have believed the rapture doctrine your whole life. But what matters more is what you choose to believe going forward. Jesus isn’t coming to snatch us away in secret. He’s coming in glory, with the trumpet blast, and every eye will see Him.

“Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him…” — Revelation 1:7

The truth isn’t hidden. It’s not encoded or reserved for scholars. It’s right there, waiting to be seen—if we’re willing to look.
